Module 7: Women & Girls in Media
Description
In this module, you will focus on teaching your girls to answer three questions based on female representation in mainstream media: 1) Do Stereotypes Exist in Media? 2) Do I Have Influence Over What Media Portrays? 3) How Do I Promote Positive Images of Women and Girls in Media? This module also addresses Honoring Women and Girls.
In this module, it is important to stay clear of the temptation to promote a secular feminist attitude, that is rooted in selfishness and self-indulgence. Your girls should not leave your sessions with the idea that they are in competition with male figures or with one another to be seen, heard or valued. Make every effort to make a clear distinction between using one's voice to God's glory and simply using one's voice to be louder. (1 Corinthians 13: 1)

Upon completion of Module 7, your girls will have a strong grasp of how to recognize media bias and how to embrace and promote healthy representations of women in media. Be prayerful, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide the lesson. Many blessings!
