The “Treasured: Teaching Girls” 10-module mentoring and leadership development curriculum for teen girls and young adult women is and incredible journey! Designed to teach girls that THEY ARE GIFTS TO THE WORLD, the curriculum is comprised of lessons, activities, team projects and social media challenges that emphasize five core values: IDENTITY, GROWTH, COURAGE, LEADERSHIP & FREEDOM. Our curriculum is an excellent tool for teachers, youth leaders, mentors and even parents who wish to guide teen girls along a leadership and personal development journey. Walk alongside your girls as they: • Embrace their God-given identity • Develop their gifts and talents • Promote positive female images in media • Promote social awareness Each lesson, and the accompanying activities, team projects and social media challenges has been meticulously tailored to meet mentoring and leadership development goals for girls from every walk of life. There are plenty of opportunities for discipling and discussion built in to the lesson. Two of the most exciting features, Portfolio Assignments and Team Projects, create an environment for girls to work together, learn from each other and forge authentic relationships! Modules include: lesson outline, student-centered lesson packet, portfolio assignments, SOAPs Bible study outlines, task cards and social media challenges to enhance the lesson. Facilitators will be able to bring all the concepts together with Journal Prompts, Review Questions, and optional Kahoot Review Games! Your girls will be engaged from start to finish of each lesson. |
Module 1
Module One (M1) is comprised of two lessons, focuses on IDENTITY, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer three identity-based questions: 1) Who am I? 2) Why am I here? 3) How can I know? Other topics addressed in this module include Personality Type, Self-Assessment, and Goal Setting. Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of their identity as God has designed them! Module 2
Module Two (M2) is comprised of three lessons, focuses on IDENTITY and GROWTH, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer three image-based questions: 1) How Do Others See Me? 2) How Do I See Myself? 3) Is My Self-Image Healthy? Other topics addressed in this module include Personal Beliefs, Selfies and God-Esteem. Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of their self-perception and the factors that influence it. module 3
Module Three (M3) is comprised of three lessons, focuses on IDENTITY and GROWTH, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer three self-care-based questions: 1) How Should Girls Care for Their Bodies? 2) Why is Personal Health and Wellness Important? 3) What is God’s Design for My Sexuality? Other topics addressed in this module include Meal Planning and Stress Management. Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of how to care for their bodies, their sexuality and factors that influence their overall wellness. module 4
Module Four (M4) is comprised of two lessons, focuses on IDENTITY, GROWTH, and FREEDOM, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer two fashion and beauty-based questions: 1) What is Beauty? 2) What Influences My Personal Style? Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of how to define beauty, what modesty really entails and how to enhance their personal style. module 5
Module Five (M5) is comprised of two lessons, focuses on IDENTITY, GROWTH, COURAGE and FREEDOM, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer two relationship-based questions: 1) What Makes Relationships Different? 2) How Are Healthy Relationships Created? This module also addresses the topic of Dating and Social Media. Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of how to define relationship types, and how to identify characteristics of healthy vs. unhealthy relationships. module 6
Module Six (M6) is comprised of three lessons, focuses on IDENTITY, GROWTH and COURAGE, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer three communication and conflict-based questions: 1) What is My Preferred Style of Communication? 2) How Do I Resolve Conflicts? 3) What Role Does Social Media Play in Conflicts? Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of how to communicate with others, and how to manage avoidable and unavoidable life conflicts. module 7
Module Seven (M7) is comprised of one lesson, focuses on IDENTITY and COURAGE, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer three questions based on female representation in mainstream media: 1) Do Stereotypes Exist in Media? 2) Do I Have Influence Over What Media Portrays? 3) How Do I Promote Positive Images of Women and Girls in Media? Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of how to recognize media bias and how to embrace and promote healthy representations of women in media. module 8
Module Eight (M8) is comprised of one lesson, focuses on COURAGE, LEADERSHIP and FREEDOM, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer three leadership-based questions: 1) Can Girls Be Leaders? 2) What Issues Affect Female Leaders? 3) How Can I Affect Social Change? This module also addresses Social Issues Affecting Women and Girls, and teaches girls how to raise awareness of social/human rights issues. Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of the challenges female leaders face, and the issues of the society that they can actively get involved in improving. module 9
Module Nine (M9) is comprised of one lesson, focuses on COURAGE and LEADERSHIP, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer two career and money-based questions: 1) What Is God’s Design for My Money? 2) How Can I Earn Money? Other topics addressed in this module include: Budgeting, Entrepreneurship, Resume Development and How to Go to College for Free! Upon completion, your girls will have a strong grasp of the how their gifts, talents and academic discipline lead to diverse career opportunities and financial independence. module 10
Module Ten (M10) is comprised of one lesson, focuses on all five core values i.e. IDENTITY, GROWTH, COURAGE, LEADERSHIP and FREEDOM, and uses deep Bible connections to help girls to answer one very important question: What Is God’s Design for My Reputation? Other topics addressed in this module include: Making Wise Choices and Building a Legacy. Upon completion, your girls will have a clear understanding of how their choices today affect their lives in the future. They will also have practical tips for guarding their reputation. |
